Other stuff:
  • Have a safe and happy holdiay.
  • Remember your textbooks are on Brightspace by d2l if you need them.
See you on Thursday January 9th, 2020!

Happy Halloween!

This Week in MATH We:

  • Started Fractions! YAY!
  • Did a pre-assessment.
  • Reviewed the pre-assessment together.  How did you do?
  • Completed the "I Can" statements for the unit.
  • Completed "Get Ready"

Cardboard Boat Races

Last week in Math and Science We:

  • Built boats out of cardboard and duct tape only.
  • It was AWESOME.
  • You looked at buoyancy, density, displacement, surface area, measurement, use of resources.

  • Race day was amazing and you all did amazing.
  • You had the opportunity to use a check list to support your boat building,
  • You completed a reflection about your group's process and what your would change.
  • You did a Visual Journal Entry about your process and what you would do differently next time.

Coming up:

  • Fractions
  • Concentration, Solute, Solvent, Saturated, Unsaturated

Happy Fall Break 85!

In MATH we have been Working on:

  • Percent.  How do you calculate that discount? Amount of tax?
  • Remember what PERCENT means.
  • Combining Percent.  What does it mean to COMBINE numbers?
  • Completed ONE of the following:
    • Level 1:  Page 148 #4, 8, 9, 13
    • Level 2:  Pages 148-149 #4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13
    • Level 3:  pages 148-149 #4-13
  • Have you added the Key Words and their definitions from this unit to your math notebook yet?

Coming Up:

  • Unit Review, quiz, Fractions, Density and surface area calculations for your cardboard boat

In SCIENCE we have been Working on:

      8. guided notes on pure substances and mixtures (2.1)
      9. guided notes on concentration and solubility (2.2)
  • You were given lots of class time...............lots................

Over Break:

  • You can plan/work on/think about your Cardboard boats.  Remember at least one team member has to be in the boat and be able to propel it forward.  You can only use DUCT TAPE and CARDBOARD.  Nothing else.  The concepts of density, buoyancy, displacement, surface area, mass.
  • Read.  Anything.  Just because you're interested in it.

Have a Restful, Fun, & Safe Break!
